Since December 2006, the Barcelona Jazz Orquestra has started to bring "Swing" back to the "Sala Apolo", in the heart of Barcelona's busy Avenida del Paralelo thoroughfare.
One Sunday each month, the "Apolo" fills with jazz lovers of all ages and origins, together with over a hundred dancers who turn the event into a veritable fiesta.
Just like in the dance halls of the golden age of Swing, the floor reverberates to the steps of "lindy" dancing and to the sound of the tunes made famous by the great "big band" names of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, or Jimmie Lunceford...
